Inspiration - VR storytelling

Let me weave a tale of a solitary soul, a lonely individual who, for reasons known only to her, shunned the company of others. In the quiet confines of her room, she found herself ensnared in contemplation, triggered by a solitary letter. She stared into the depths of her room's aquarium, lost in reverie, and soon, she slipped into a dream. Within this dream, her journey led her to the depths of the ocean, where she transformed into a fish yearning to give voice to her existence. Remarkably, the denizens of the deep ocean resonated with her silent desires. The profound depths of the sea often mirror the nadir of one's emotional state, thus, employing the ocean's depths to symbolize her entrapment in solitude proved a poignant metaphor.

At a certain juncture, she ascended a luminous staircase emerging from the ocean's abyss, a stairway to the stars. All around, celestial bodies began to shimmer, and she felt as if she had traversed into the cosmos itself. The stars, like celestial dancers, extended their invitation, and she gracefully joined in their cosmic ballet. She followed their celestial cues and twirled amidst the galaxies (here, consider whether this could be transformed into MR mode). In the end, one of these stars descended, finding its place within the letter resting in her room.

Concerning the conception of this narrative, we must delve into the depths of human solitude, exploring why people experience loneliness and why they choose solitude. What brings about the unsettling feeling of social insecurity? What fuels this sense of isolation? Through such exploration, we may unearth the potential for narrative-driven VR psychological therapy.

My notion is that, besides "loneliness," we should also weave "communication" into the tapestry of our story's design. Loneliness and communication are two facets of the same coin. Humans are inherently capable of linguistic communication, yet paradoxically, language can be a barrier to true understanding. It can give rise to misunderstandings and ambiguities, thereby nurturing the seed of loneliness. At times, despite our proximity to others, we fail to truly comprehend them. The surface constructed by human language often proves hollow, for words uttered are deconstructed, encoded, and delivered into the recesses of another's mind. The interpretation of these words depends heavily on individual cognition and experience, leading to potential misconceptions and, consequently, estrangement and solitude. Occasionally, individuals may forsake communication altogether due to these obstacles, causing relationships to fracture. In these moments, humanity forgets its innate abilities for non-verbal communication, wrongly assuming that language alone serves as the bridge to understanding.
